Economic Development Through 380 Agreements

The City of Glen Rose is interested in promoting economic development. Among the Economic Development tools available to the City of Glen Rose are “380 Agreements.” These agreements are authorized under Chapter 380 of the Texas Local Government Code, “The governing body of a municipality may establish and provide for the administration of one or more programs, including programs for making loans and grants of public money and providing personnel and services of the municipality, to promote state or local economic development and to stimulate business and commercial activity in the municipality.” 380 Agreements can include rebates associated with municipal property taxes and municipal sales and use taxes.

The City Administrator is the primary point of contact for economic development, but depending upon the type of economic development under consideration, a project might also fall within the purview of the City’s  Building Official or Public Works Director. Please let us know about your plans, and we will be happy to direct you to the right players.
